Harvest Festival

On Sunday 6th October we celebrated our Harvest Festival.  This is always a wonderful service as it's a time for us all to get together and celebrate the end of a wonderful summer and the beginning of our preparation for Christmas.

This year we gathered together at 10am (which gave us all a nice lie in), and we were lucky enough that a few new people joined us this year.  We were joined for the main church service by our Junior Church children - our Fish Club - who celebrated the service with us and helped make it extra special.  The children showed us the little 'church mouse' who was baked into our harvest loaf then helped us by taking the prayers during the service.  One of our children even read out the Lord's Prayer for us.

As always the church was decorated beautifully for this wonderful celebration and the team did a marvellous job.  These donations of fresh fruit were distributed to local, elderly people who live alone and the non perishable food will be taken to the People's Kitchen in Newcastle to help them with their work.

This Harvest service was followed by coffee and biscuits which allowed many of us to mingle together and chat afterwards.

A massive thank you to all the people who both helped to decorate the church and to those who'll be delivering this much needed food to the People's Kitchen.

Please consider joining us for a church service or alternatively, think about coming along to one of our 'activities' and getting a 'feel' for the place.  You will be made most welcome!
