Sunday 2nd October at 10am

Harvest is always a special time in the church calendar where traditionally communities met to thank God for the abundance of the crops and success of the farmers around us.  Although it is still used for that purpose it is also a time for us to reflect on those who are less fortunate and don't have full cupboards.  At St Columba's we use our Harvest Festival to collect dried goods to distribute to the People's Kitchen in Newcastle and any fresh donations are given out around our local community.

Our Harvest Festival is always full of uplifting music, our children in the congregation are involved in the service and it's a lovely informal service.  So why not come along and join in?  Donations of goods are gladly accepted but your presence would be even more gratefully received.

Come and make some friends . . . We look forward to seeing you there.

We’re not just a church, we’re a community!

SUMMER FAIR Saturday 9th July

10am till 1pm

Our Summer Fair takes place on Saturday 9th July.  We are planning to have lots of activities for you to take part in.  We'll have a superb cake stall and I would suggest being there early to grab the best choice of cakes, buns, scones and biscuits.  We have some great cooks in our congregation and we all know there's nothing better than a home made cake.
We'll be serving snacks and drinks too so don't be afraid to come over lunch time as you can grab a sarnie, cake or two and enjoy the day out.
We'll be having our ever popular bottle tombola with some great prizes up for grabs and a couple of slightly less exciting ones.  From whiskey and wine to fruit shoots and coke there's always someone there for everyone.  If a lucky dip or two is your thing then there'll be our ever popular chocolate tombola too and if you're really lucky you might win on both - what more could you wish for?  Chocolate and fizz . . .
There's always something there for the kids too.  We have a toy stall where you can grab a bargain or two and perhaps even face painting or a bouncy castle?  There's a craft stall for those who love a bargain to get something homemade for birthdays, Christmas or even a treat for yourself.
We also have our ever popular raffle where you can win anything from £50 cash, through to gift cards, meals out, wine and chocolates.  Loads of chances to win for everyone.
We're still planning this great day out so watch out for future updates.  We're booked some good weather for that weekend (we hope) so why not enjoy the sunshine by joining us for some fun for all the family.
See you there . . .

Saint George's day is celebrated by various Christian churches and by the countries, and cities of which Saint George is the patron saint.  Saint George's Day is celebrated on 23rd April, the traditionally accepted date of Saint George's death in 303AD.  According to legend, George was a soldier in the Roman army who later became venerated as a Christian martyr.

We are holding a St George's Day Coffee Morning on Saturday April 23rd at 10am in the Church Hall.

We'll be having a raffle, cake stall and a red and white stall.  Entrance is £1 which includes coffee and biscuits.  This is to help us to raise much needed church funds.

Please come along and join us to celebrate this special 'English' Day.  You'll be made most welcome!

Wednesday, 10 February 2016

Our Mothering Sunday service takes place on Sunday 6th March at 10am.  This is a service where we take special care of the ladies in our congregation and celebrate what they bring to families and communities alike.
The service is very relaxed and the children are encouraged to help out during parts of the service.  If you're new to church or would like to try us out then Mothering Sunday is a great way to visit us.  Our Church is normally quite busy that day and we'd love to see you join us.
All ladies are given a small bunch of flowers so please come along and experience what we have to offer.  We also serve tea, coffee, juice and biscuits after the service and this is a great chance for you to chat to friends and relax over a cup of tea and say hello to those who you don't know but may be future friends.
We look forward to seeing you there x

If you've never been to Church with children and you're frightened of the noise they might make, then why not try our Coffee, Crafts and Worship service?  This is held on the last Sunday of each month at 3.30pm and our next service is on Sunday 31st January.

It's a safe environment for you to 'try out' Church with any children you may care for.  We start in the Church hall with craft activities and have tea or coffee and juice for the children.  After that we move into Church with a very informal Bible story and service in which the children take an active part.

Children's voices are welcome in our Church so please don't be worried about noise.  Please pop along, you'll be made very welcome!

Our coffee morning takes place on Saturday 6th February between 10am and 11.30am.  We'll have a small cake stall, raffle and Easter stall.  Entrance costs £1 and includes tea or coffee and biscuits galore.  Why not come along and join us?
